Dear Reader, 👋

Imagine a bouncer at a club who doesn't just look at your ID, but scans the length of your forearm and the height of your shoulders to decide if you're old enough to enter. It sounds like science fiction, but for millions of social media users, this is becoming the new reality.

Flipped.ai's weekly newsletter reaches over 75,000 professionals, innovators, and decision-makers worldwide. This week, we're exploring how Meta is moving beyond birthdays and bios to use advanced AI "physicality" scans to protect and police the next generation of users.

Let's dive in! 👇

Before we take the plunge, a special shoutout to Mintlify for supporting today’s edition.

AI Agents Are Reading Your Docs. Are You Ready?

Last month, 48% of visitors to documentation sites across Mintlify were AI agents, not humans.

Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding agents are becoming the actual customers reading your docs. And they read everything.

This changes what good documentation means. Humans skim and forgive gaps. Agents methodically check every endpoint, read every guide, and compare you against alternatives with zero fatigue.

Your docs aren't just helping users anymore. They're your product's first interview with the machines deciding whether to recommend you.

That means: clear schema markup so agents can parse your content, real benchmarks instead of marketing fluff, open endpoints agents can actually test, and honest comparisons that emphasize strengths without hype.

Mintlify powers documentation for over 20,000 companies, reaching 100M+ people every year. We just raised a $45M Series B led by @a16z and @SalesforceVC to build the knowledge layer for the agent era.

Beyond the Birthday: AI is Getting Physical

For years, kids have bypassed age restrictions by simply typing in a fake birth year. Meta is now fighting back with a sophisticated AI tool that doesn't care what year you say you were born.

Instead of just reading text, Meta’s new AI scans photos and videos for visual cues. This includes analyzing:

  • Physical Proportions: Estimating age based on height.

  • Bone Structure: Identifying physical development markers that suggest a user is under 13.

  • Contextual Patterns: Looking for "Happy 10th Birthday!" captions or mentions of 5th-grade homework.

Privacy vs. Protection: Is This Facial Recognition?

Meta has been very clear on one point: This is not facial recognition. The AI isn't trying to find out who you are; it’s trying to figure out how old you are. The system looks at general physical themes rather than identifying individual faces. If the AI flags an account as potentially underage, the account is deactivated immediately. To get back in, the user must go through a formal age-verification process, or the account is deleted forever.

The Rise of the "Teen Account"

This isn't just about kicking kids off the platform; it’s about putting teenagers into a "digital padded room." Meta is expanding its Teen Accounts to 27 countries in the EU and Brazil. These accounts are "private by default" and include:

  • Restricted DMs: Teens can only be messaged by people they already follow.

  • Sensitive Content Filters: Automatically hiding harmful or mature comments.

  • Parental AI Oversight: Giving parents visibility into their children’s interactions with AI chatbots.

Why Now? The Pressure is On

This AI push isn't happening in a vacuum. Meta recently faced a massive $375 million penalty in New Mexico for misleading parents about child safety. With more lawsuits looming and the European Commission watching closely, Meta is shifting from being a "platform for everyone" to a highly regulated environment.

How This Helps You

Understanding these shifts is vital for parents, educators, and digital marketers alike:

  • For Parents: It provides a much-needed safety net, reducing the "stranger danger" and adult content your children might stumble upon.

  • For Professionals: It shows how AI is moving from "generative" (making things) to "evaluative" (judging physical reality), a trend that will soon hit other industries like insurance and healthcare.

If you want to explore more about how these safety measures are being rolled out globally, read this article- Meta will use AI to analyze height and bone structure to identify if users are underage

What do you think? Is scanning bone structure a step too far for privacy, or a necessary move for safety? Reply and let us know!

AI Alone Can’t Run Revenue

Finance doesn’t run on “mostly right.” It runs on math.

In The Architecture Behind AI-Native Revenue Automation, Tabs’s CTO breaks down why LLMs alone aren’t enough—and what it actually takes to build audit-ready, AI-driven contract-to-cash systems for modern B2B teams.
