Amazon Launches ‘AI Ready’ With 8 Free AI Courses

Amazon has taken a significant step in advancing artificial intelligence (AI) education with the launch of its "AI Ready" initiative, comprising eight free AI and generative AI courses. The primary objective is to provide skills training to 2 million individuals globally by 2025. This initiative responds to the heightened demand for AI talent, a key finding from an AWS study, emphasizing the potential for higher salaries for individuals skilled in AI technologies and addressing a crucial gap in the current job market.

The "AI Ready" initiative is multifaceted, including free courses tailored for non-technical audiences, a scholarship program for high school and university students in collaboration with Udacity, and a strategic partnership with Code.org.

The 8 courses within this training series cover diverse aspects of AI, ranging from foundational knowledge to practical applications:

Addressing the growing demand for AI skills, an AWS and Access Partnership study reveals that 73% of employers prioritize hiring AI-skilled talent. Employers anticipate individuals with AI skills to earn up to 47% more in salaries, underscoring the financial benefits of such training. Furthermore, 93% of businesses anticipate incorporating AI solutions across their organizations in the next five years, indicating AI’s escalating influence in various industries.

By democratizing access to AI education and training, Amazon's initiative not only meets immediate industry needs but also plays a pivotal role in shaping the future landscape of AI applications in business and society. Google's launch of free AI courses in September underscores the industry-wide trend toward making AI education more accessible.
